What are Customers?
Customers are very important people to Cornell,
In person, on the phone, and through correspondence.
Customers are not dependent on us,
We are dependent on them.
Customers are not an interruption of our work;
They are the purpose of it.
We are not doing them a favor by serving them;
They are doing us a favor by giving us the opportunity.
Customers are not outsiders to our business;
They are the most vital part of it.
Customers are not cold statistics -
Names on filing cards or on email lists.
They are flesh-and-blood human beings
With feelings and emotions like our own.
Customers may not always be right,
But they are always customers.
Customers are always welcomed visitors
And should be treated as special guests.
Customers are people who bring us their wants.
It's our challenge to serve them cheerfully and equitably,
So they will return to Cornell
Again, again, again, and again.
